GotoBus.com uses Google Local Maps to add an interactive map for searching bus routes.
CAMBRIDGE, MA, April 17, 2006—GotoBus.com, the leading online purveyor of bus tickets and tours, announced the release of an interactive map to help customers search for bus routes from any of the locations it serves. The new map is built using Google Local Maps and incorporates the latest mapping capabilities and graphics.
The map allows customers to toggle on any city and immediately see links to all the destinations served from that city. Color coding is also utilized to differentiate between departure and destination. Clicking on any yellow bus icon on the map, will show all destinations accessible from that city.

This is the latest development from GotoBus and was created to make browsing for bus service more interesting and easier to navigate. Customers will still be able to enter a departure and destination city to search by date. The new map has the advantage of showing the customer all possible routes for a given departure with one mouse click.
GotoBus President, Jimmy Chen said, “We made this tool so customers would have another way of searching for route information. It provides and instant visual display of all of the destinations served from a particular starting location. It is a great addition to our current search options; plus, it is just a really fun tool to use.”
