I took a 3 day package tour of GoToBus to visit Grand Canyon and Las Vegas with my husband this winter, which turned out to be an economical and enjoyable trip for us. The tour bus picked up registered people from various locations and finallyGrand Canyon and Las Vegas Package Tour gathered us all in a comfortable long flight bus. The Gotobus tours moslty contain people of Asian origin, so it is best suited for like company.
One gets to visit a mall during the bus journey break and also visit the Hover Dam on another stop break. After a scenic drive through the desert, we arrived at the Grand Canyon. One could witness native american dance performance and get pictures clicked with the dancers and the impressive head of the tribe, while the grand canyon shuttles arrived to transport visitors to the viewing site. The view of the Grand Canyon was awe-inspiring and one could not wait to climb on the skywalk. The knees kept buckling with nervousness when one walked on the transparent ledge of the skywalk and looked into the depth of the Canyon. Later the bus took you to another view point where one could also take a bite under the sun with refreshments and a light mexican lunch served. By evening you continue driving to Las Vegas and check into a reasonable hotel, Plaza as part of the package tour in old city. The fact that the hotel was located away from the main vegas promenade was disheartening at first but then we discovered opportunity to explore the local city bus to the main city. This turned out to be a great fun experience because one couldnt remember the last time we sat in a double decker bus. The rest of the evening and the day next were spent walking the lighted streets and gazing at the stupendous architecture of the exquisite hotel casinos on Las Vegas Promenade. Late at night we would return to our hotel and take a stroll on Fremont Street for some live music shows and artistry.
The drive back on the third day was enjoyable too as we watched a couple movies on the small TV screens fitted in the bus. The tour was very satisfying because one was not required to drive and you make the most of your time in 3 days because the tour guide on the bus insists on starting the day early and also takes you to places you would miss on your own, for example the visit to the Ethel M Chocolate factory on our way back. Great going Gotobus!
